I always feel like when it comes to doing art, especially art for the masses, I always have to stick to the standard, the digital art, the digital coloring, the digital this and digital that. Don't get me wrong, digital art is great and I love to do it even though I'm not that good. But lately I just feel like people expect you to know how to do digital stuff, and if you don't then you're behind. Or is it just me?
I'm beginning to reconsider inking my manga digitally. My pencil lines are so much smoother and I feel like I have more control. It'll probably take me 6 months to a year to perfect my digital lining, but I don't want to work on a project only to have the 6th book of my manga looking nothing like my 1st book. Consistency, I'm all about that. So I need to find a way to do my manga without jumping from one medium to another.
Should I do my manga all in clean pencil and just add half-tones digitally? I've done works like this before and don't see a problem with it, but would readers not like it? Arghh, all these little things...
